The transfer rumor saga continues with Kylian Mbappe and his affiliation to Real Madrid. Yesterday, reports emerged that Mbappe has told his current club, AS Monaco, that if he is to leave the Ligue 1 champions, then the only place he would be interested in would be Real. Ben Sundock has the details on the rumors.

The rumors of Kylian Mbappe coming to Real Madrid might actually have some truth to them. Reports have indicated that the 18-year-old striker only wants to move from Monaco if he is going to the Spanish capital.

Mbappe has seen several transfer offers come in, ranging from the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and even Barcelona. However, those club’s pursuit of the stud French striker are likely to be futile after Mbappe told club president Dmitri Rybolovlev, “Real or no one.”

Real’s tireless pursuit of Mbappe has caused a bit of surprise amongst fans as the still very young striker just finished a breakout season with the French league champions. However, with growing rumors swirling around Cristiano Ronaldo’s status with the club and the Spanish government, many are starting to look at Mbappe as the possible replacement to the long time Madrid star.

The recent re-election of Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez has led many to believe that with another four years at the helm guaranteed, the next huge signing in a list of at least a dozen over the course of his tenure, will be the budding star from France.

Perez went as far as to acknowledge Los Blancos’ interest in Mbappe, saying in an interview Monday, “Zidane saw him when he was 16 years old. Zidane liked him a lot,” Perez told Onda Cero. “We weren’t on the edge of signing him, because of his age. If it’s a community player he can get to the club from 16 years and if not a community player, starting at 18. Mbappe has some very good ways and surely he’ll become one of the greatest.”

“We are following him, of course.”

It’s clear by the play from the young Kylian Mbappe and Real’s continued interest in the player that this is a deal bound to happen. If Florentino Perez could buy Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, then he can definitely make this deal for Mbappe happen.

And it’s rather clear that Mbappe wants to go to the top club in the world either this summer or the next.
