According to reports from AS, Dani Ceballos has informed his agent and Real Madrid executives that he will sign with the club in the coming days. Possibly as soon as tomorrow. Ben Sundock has the details.
“Dani Ceballos has said ‘yes’ to a summer move to Real Madrid,” reads the opening line from AS. After reporting that he would wait a couple weeks to make his decision, the 20-year-old Spanish international had a quick change of heart over the last couple of days.
Real Madrid set a deadline for Ceballos to make a decision as to whether he would choose to join Los Blancos yesterday, with the deadline being Monday. Now, Dani could be officially signed to the club by Monday.
Caballos’ agent, Margarita Garay, will hold talks with Real Madrid director José Ángel Sánchez, to agree to the exact terms of a deal. Reports have also indicated that Real Betis will begrudgingly agree to the sale of one of their best players after Dani told them outright that he wishes to leave.
Los Blancos will return to training in the Spanish capital Monday, and manager Zinedine Zidane wants to know which players he will have at his disposal.
According to AS, “As part of their contract proposal to Ceballos, the club have guaranteed him a place in the first-team squad (the initial plan had been to loan him out, either back to Betis or to another LaLiga side, in his first season).”
The deal with Ceballos is estimated to be between five and six years, and should allow the impressive midfielder to grow to his full potential if he is indeed given regular first team minutes.
Ceballos was a key player all year for Betis, starting 24 matches, and appearing in 6 more as a substitute. According to the stats from WhoScored, Ceballos finished the season with a 7.32 average match rating, scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists.
Dani started the majority of his matches as a central midfielder (20 of the 30 matches) and also featured as a forward winger, right and left midfielder, and even a defensive midfielder in one match. Safe to say, the young player is versatile and can be plugged in where he’s needed.

Hopefully, the deal will be completed in the next day or two so that Ceballos can begin to develop chemistry with his new teammates and begin to work into the system.
