Midfielders

Casemiro: 7/10 – The best midfielder on the night was the CDM Casemiro. He served as a third center back nearly the entire match and made several good tackles, leading the team and all players with 5. His passing was also concise and accurate. Top to bottom, Casemiro was the best midfielder for Madrid in this game.

He also had one of the funniest flops of all time.

Luka Modric: 6/10 – The key cog in the midfield was absent against his former team, making very little impact over the course of the match. The best chance Luka had just outside the box, he fell down with almost no contact and lost the ball. He had a lot of touches and passes, but none of them were meaningful.

Toni Kroos: 6.5/10 – Another player who is usually key to Real Madrid’s success is Toni Kroos. He was not in this match. His passing as always was on point through the midfield, but he was unable to put in any crucial crosses on 8 corner kicks.
