Midfield

Gareth Bale – 8

Bale’s most notable contribution to the game was a wicked finish he had to give Real Madrid the 1-0 lead in the first half. The Welshman is looking good and making a convincing case to Zidane that he should start Tuesday’s match in Paris. Gareth has been looking strong in recent weeks and will be looking to continue his form to help propel Real further into the UCL.

Marcos Llorente – 7

Llorente played alongside Casemiro, almost a symbolic move by Zidane. The young Spaniard has not gotten many minutes this season but got another opportunity this weekend to show off his talents. Marcos played well getting around the pitch and picking up the scraps when needed. The young talent is looking promising, let’s hope he doesn’t end up being an Illarramendi version 2.0.

More from The Real Champs

Casemiro – 7

The Brazilian had a decent night in his role as he had two tackles and three interceptions on the night. There wasn’t much about Casemiro that popped out in some flashy performance but that’s not what is needed in any case. The CDM got the job done and made sure to be a pain in Getafe’s attack.

Isco – 7.5

Despite some reports that there has been a rift between Capitan Sergio Ramos and Isco, Magia got the green light from Zidane. His best act on the night was a sweet through-ball which could have been a goal had it not been for a poor first touch from Benzema. Isco looked much more involved and confident in his play than he did against Espanyol.

Attack

Cristiano Ronaldo – 9

Since the turn of the calendar year, Cristiano has been punishing goalies week after week. Both of his goals showed how multi-dimensional the winger is. His first goal displayed his finesses in shooting while his second showed his ability to get his head on the ball directing it home with power. This was a great confidence booster for the Portuguese man as he looks to lead his team to another UCL victory.

Karim Benzema – 8

While Benzema was not able to find his scoring touch in another outing in La Liga, the striker provided in a different aspect. His assist to Ronaldo helped Madrid take the lead against Getafe. His performance shows just how strong the Frenchman can be.

Substitutes

Marcelo – 7.5

Marcelo returned from injury mid-way through the second half of the match replacing Theo Hernandez. The Brazilian immediately changed the game, adding a different dynamic to Real Madrid. His fiery hot cross was met by the head of Cristiano Ronaldo ensuring the victory for Zidane and his men. With the appearance this weekend, it is likely the wing-back will feature in Tuesday’s match as well.

Marco Asensio – 7

Asensio did not have much time on the pitch but did well to cause trouble for his opponent’s defense as he was ever so graceful on the ball. Marco will surely pick up more minutes as the season gets busier.

Mateo Kovacic – 7

Kovacic did not get the start this weekend but did pick up 10 minutes. While he did not play a vital role against Getafe that could change on Tuesday against Paris Saint-Germain.
