Alas, the wait is finally over!

Real Madrid will return to action in two days as they travel to take on UD Las Palmas in La Liga. Before that happens, let us take time to revile in just five of the many accomplishments of the players from Real Madrid during the break.

This break, a total of 20 players left the comforts of the Valdebebas to join their national squads. Most players took part in two friendly fixtures, while three of Madrid’s youngsters took part in qualifiers. Jesús Vallejo, Dani Ceballos, and Borja Mayoral, all joined Spain’s U-21 National Team.

Madrid’s youngsters played two qualifying matches on their road to the 2019 European U-21 competition. While the rest were on friendlies, many made sure to keep the spotlight on them, and shining brightly.

Here’s a look at five key moments this international break.

Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos has now reached 150 caps with the Spanish National Team. The center-back not only captains Los Blancos but also does so for, La Roja. Ramos jokingly said, “I’ve got Casillas shaking!” when prompted about his international career.

Former Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas currently holds the title of most caps with the La Roja at 167 to his name. Casillas won at a rate of 72.45%, a total of 121 victories for his country.

Not only is Ramos chasing down Iker’s appearance record but is looking strong to beat his former teammate’s win percentage. Of the 150 appearances by Ramos, he has won 115, leaving him with a 76.15% winning rate.

Earlier this week, the Captain took more important duties off the pitch. Ramos and his girlfriend, Pilla Rubio, welcomed their third some who they name Alejandro.
