Potential suitors

Both PSG and Manchester United have been linked to Casemiro in an effort to have him dawn their kit. A strong defensive midfielder is much like a four leaf clover, they are by no means easy to come by and bring you good luck. With the game of football becoming so fast paced, the need for a solid defensive midfielder is ever so important.

Paris Saint-Germain

Currently, PSG has two defensive midfielders in their squad; Lassana Diarra and Thiago Motta aged 33 and 35 respectively.

Diarra has not featured much and it is unlikely he will remain with the team, leaving Motta as the only viable DM. Thiago Motta is 35 and will be hitting 36 in a few months time, making Casemiro – who is 10 years younger – look even more scintillating.

A DM is a priority for PSG without a doubt. It’s evident that they do just fine in Ligue 1, but need that safety net when it comes to the UCL.

According to AS, PSG is not ready to meet Casemiro’s astronomically high €200 million buyout clause but will make an offer nonetheless. Everyone knows that PSG have the cash to splash and for the Parisians, money is nothing more than pieces of paper.

Manchester United

While United has spent a plethora of cash on players in an array of positions, they still seem to be missing a piece. Rumor has it that the piece comes in the form of Casemiro.

Despite having a box-to-box player in Paul Pogba, Casmeiro’s services would lighten the load on Paul, giving the midfielders more of a cushion.

Manchester was rumored to be making a push for Casmeiro a few months back and now that PSG is said to be in contention, this could make for an interesting bidding war.
