July 10th marks a new era for Real Madrid. The day Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. Although there’s plenty to be sad about, the club’s future remains bright.

Real Madrid released an official statement confirming that Ronaldo was departing to Juventus per his request. The club expressed their gratitude for everything that he has given them, including 3 European trophies in a row.

For this reason, his departure causes many fans anguish. Sooner or later Ronaldo was going to leave the club anyway. Many club legends leave on a sour note and it’s great that he left with his head held high.

His exit makes way for a revamped version of Real Madrid. The team has plenty of young talent. We have all witnessed the progression of Asensio as a player. Some even deem him the man to fill Ronaldo’s shoes.

Additionally, we have also seen Isco blossom as a player since his signing 5 years ago. Now is the time for the youth to get important minutes in big games. Now is a time for them to become the difference makers on the pitch.

Another great point is the change in tactics and team mindset. Without a superstar player like Ronaldo, the squad will transition to more collective performances. There will be no Ronaldo to bail out the squad. Every player has to work for the other and fight for their spot in an opened up lineup.

Underperforming players can redeem themselves going forward. Even though Bale came to life last season, he hasn’t been the signing we expected him to become. He now has the chance to take more responsibility and lead the team.

Similarly, Benzema has been underwhelming the past few seasons. He is Real Madrid’s 7th top scorer of all time. He has the ability to grab the goals we need to win trophies. Hopefully, we see a return in his form in the coming seasons.

Furthermore, Florentino Perez has made an excellent profit from the Ronaldo deal. He hasn’t spent big money since the James Rodriguez deal in 2014. He now has a chance to make multiple galactico signings this summer. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he spends upwards of 300 million this summer.

Potential signings include players like Hazard, Mbappe, Icardi, and maybe even Neymar. With Hazard and Mbappe’s World Cup performances, they could be in Real Madrid jersey’s before the end of the summer.

The combination of youth, current top players, and big signing is amazing for the club. We will miss Ronaldo dearly but unfortunately, have to move forward. 2018 is a year where Real Madrid will not fail but continue their football dominance.
