Out of favor Real Madrid midfielder, Isco, returned to group training on Friday ahead of the club’s trip to face Levante this weekend. Although one player returned to the session, one remains out. Here is a full update!

Manager Santiago Solari has to be pleased with the overall play of his team over the last month. The team went a month without losing a match before floundering in the second half against a lackluster Girona team last weekend.

Solari has nearly every player in the team at his disposal moving into the business end of the campaign, and his extensive list of talented players grew a bit more on Friday afternoon in the Spanish capital.

Isco rejoined the group on the outdoor training fields and appeared to be near full fitness after being sidelined for nearly three weeks.

According to a recap on the club’s official website, the players, “took part in a range of ball circulation and pressing exercises, while also working on tactical elements.”

This has been a much easier week for everyone at Real Madrid without a cup competition during the middle of the week and has meant less training and more rest. Solari had his players out on the fields at the Valadebebas just three times this week.

Marcos Llorente is still recovering from the slight injury he picked up against FC Barcelona in the Copa del Rey a couple weeks back.

After last weekend’s setback, Los Blancos sit in third place just two points behind rival Atletico Madrid and nine points behind first-place Barca. Levante has had a very bipolar start to the 2019 calendar year with an impressive 4-1 win over Eibar marred by a 5-0 defeat to Sevilla.

As we have seen since Solari took charge of the team, he doesn’t find Isco as much of an asset as Zinedine Zidane did during his tenure. The crafty midfielder has been relegated to the bench for the majority of the last two months and his displeasure is only growing.

He likely won’t get the start on Sunday night, but he could make a short appearance off the bench just to stretch his legs.
