Zinedine Zidane has come back home and with that comes a lot of uncertainty when it comes to the players. While Santiago Solari was in charge, it seemed to be a definite conclusion that there will be some players such as Isco and Marcelo that would be leaving in the summer. The appointment of Zidane has changed that and now we take a look at what possible departures or arrivals we can expect in the summer.

The best way to look at the departures and arrivals would be to take each position on its own and see what changes could be made in Zinedine Zidane’s second reign as Real Madrid manager:

1. Goalkeepers

Zidane is a known admirer of Keylor Navas and even went as far as blocking the arrival of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao. In return, Navas ensured that he gave 100% in every match and because of that commitment the Costa Rican won three consecutive UEFA Champions League trophies while under the management of the Frenchman.

After Zidane left in the summer, Florentino Perez decided to purchase Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea for a bargain as both Julen Lopetegui and Solari preferred the Belgian, especially Solari who only played Navas in the Copa del Rey Matches.

Saying that Navas will be the chosen keeper now under Zidane is risky and very premature. We’re not selling Courtois and Navas isn’t getting any younger.

Therefore, if one of the goalkeepers leave, it will be Keylor Navas but Zidane may look into using both of them next season just like Ancelotti did with Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez, yet we have to also keep in mind that Andriy Lunin will be back with the team next season so the club will have to decide whether he will replace Navas as a backup goalkeeper or will he be sent out on loan once again.
