With eleven games remaining in the season and nothing left to play for in the season, Zinedine Zidane has the chance to analyse his squad and see what adjustments need to be made ahead of next season. Hasan Karim and Zach Hicks discussed who we think should go and who should stay:

Goalkeepers:

Keylor Navas and Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois:

ZH:  Keep. Younger than Navas and a top quality keeper in his own right.

HK: I agree, Courtois is younger than Navas and is world-class. Having only just been purchased this past summer, selling him makes little sense. Expect the Belgian to remain for the coming seasons.

Keylor Navas:

ZH: Love him, will always love him as a player, and he may still be better than Thibaut but at his age and with a younger star keeper on board it’s time to go.

HK: Keylor Navas has been a very loyal servant of Real Madrid. Having battled for his well deserved spot for the last few years, it’s hard to let him go. A huge factor in the Champions League golden run, he would be an asset for any team. However, he is advancing in age and we’ve a younger mainstay. Unless he’s willing to rotate, I imagine he will depart the Bernabeu this summer.

Luca Zidane:

ZH: Not sure you can hire his dad and let him go. Keep him and loan him out.

HK: He’s had a relatively decent year with the Castilla and is clearly of the level to be playing for a top-flight side, Real Madrid level? Probably not. However, his surname is an issue here and will likely see him loaned out. I don’t see him being any better than third choice.

Lunin:

ZH: Has had a rough year but he’s got a lot of talent. Keep him as the backup and give him some time in the Copa.

HK: Clearly, Lunin has a high ceiling. Despite barely getting any game time, he always looks strong when given the chance. Still only a youngster, I would personally make him the number two (if Keylor departs) and let him play the Copa del Rey games.
