Rodrygo could start

Rodrygo found himself in the starting lineup against Galatasaray last week and put in a quality performance, showing Zinedine Zidane that he is honestly ready to receive more playing time than Lucas Vazquez going forward.

Although Vazquez is back from injury and still seems to be favored by Zidane, the French manager has to be impressed with what Rodrygo has shown this season. Even though he is only 18, he has shown that he’s already a cut above the rest, and there are several clubs in La Liga who would immediately insert this man into their starting lineup.

Rodrygo’s tactical awareness, effort, and technical ability are all light years ahead of what someone would expect from a teenager. He is ready to receive a little more responsibility as a regular in the Real lineup, and this could be another chance for him to impose himself on a La Liga side. Recall the goal he scored as a substitute on his debut against Osasuna last month, and Osasuna are a much better defensive side than Leganes.

There is no guarantee that Rodrygo starts, of course, but it would be highly disappointing if he didn’t at least get 30 minutes off the bench. Heck, most Real fans would be upset to see Vazquez starting over him.
