DM Casemiro

This wasn’t one of Casemiro’s best games. He had an amazing early through ball for Gareth Bale that the winger squandered by being too timid on his weak foot, but, as a whole, Casemiro’s passing was poor and he was dispossessed too frequently.

Still, the Brazilian holding midfielder led the way with four tackles, per WhoScored.com, and also had eight clearances and two interceptions. Because Luka Modric was getting bullied by Getafe’s midfield, Casemiro had to do more covering than he would with Fede Valverde alongside him.

Rating: 6.5 out of 10

CM Luka Modric

Luka Modric had some clever touches to show his quality in the first half, but he was badly overrun by Getafe’s midfield. Getafe were the better side in the first half, and Modric and Toni Kroos weren’t able to influence the game as much on the ball.

But Modric improved in the second half and eventually grabbed an easy goal for his efforts. He’s had a solid season thus far, so we’ll see better performances than this from him.

Rating: 5.5 out of 10

CM Toni Kroos

One of Real Madrid’s best players this season, Toni Kroos didn’t get to have much of an influence on this game, but he made a difference when the opportunities came to him. His great corner helped lead to Ferland Mendy’s goal-creating cross, and his free kick assisted Raphael Varane in the second half.

Kroos played in a few more dangerous passes and was by far the team’s most accurate passer in what was otherwise a sloppy game. Like his teammates, this wasn’t Kroos’ most sparkling performance, but he was solid enough.
