Real Madrid: 3 keys to victory against Valencia in Supercup
3. Vinicius Jr.
Every time Valencia faces Real Madrid they bring their A-game. They are a side which defends quite well and are very difficult to break down. In games like these, Eden Hazard would be perfect to help break down the defense with his dribbles and directness. With him out injured, Real have struggled with breaking down stubborn defenses.
Vinicius Jr. is the closest player the Whites have who can replace Eden like for like, especially with regards to his dribbling and navigating out of tight spaces. Valencia defends in two banks of four and will offer very little space to Los Blancos.
Real will most probably have the upper hand in possession but fail to create too much clear cut chances.
That is where Vinicius Jr. will come in with his particular skill set. The unpredictability that he offers will throw off Valencias’ defenders, help create chances and create space for the other players. He has also improved his decision making and now has started understanding when to pass the ball and when to shoot it.
All in all, he’ll be a key player in breaking down the opposition defense and creating chances for the rest of the attackers to score. Real Madrid will be hoping he shows up in his best form.
