ST Luka Jovic

Luka Jovic is still taking his time to gel up with the squad and still finding his feet in the new team. He was quite isolated throughout the game and never really got a great goalscoring opportunity either. Jovic improved in the second half and almost provided a great assist to Fede Valverde with a cross but Fede wasn’t able to capitalise on the opportunity.

He will take some time to get going and Atletico Madrid are one of the meanest defences to play against. He was marked by two players throughout the game which made it pretty tough for him to get onto any of the crosses coming to him.

Rating: 6 out of 10

RW Rodrygo Goes

Rodrygo replaced Isco at the hour mark and was decent throughout the game. He didn’t get enough space to work with but still managed to force Oblak into a save and combined well with Mendy on the left throughout the game.

Rating: 6 out of 10

ST Mariano Diaz

Mariano replaced Luka Jovic at the 83rd minute and looked lively throughout the 30 minutes. He set up Modric for a great shot and had a couple of opportunities himself which he failed to capitalise on. He helped in carrying the ball forward by dropping deep to provide an outlet and selflessly gave his penalty away to Ramos to seal the win.

Rating: 5.5 out of 10

LW Vinicius Junior

Vinicius Junior replaced Toni Kroos at the 103rd minute and didn’t get enough time to make an impact as Real Madrid went a man down soon after he came on.
