Real Madrid loanee Oscar Rodriguez has been quietly enjoying a strong season at Leganes, and he scored another absolute screamer on Matchday 27 of La Liga.

While Leganes are fighting the likes of Espanyol, Mallorca, and Celta Vigo in La Liga’s relegation battle, their attacking midfielder, Oscar Rodriguez, has enjoyed a quality campaign. The Real Madrid loanee has flashed serious talent this season, and he did so again on Matchday 27 against Villarreal.

Star striker Gerard Moreno struck in just the fifth minute to give the favored side the lead, but Oscar Rodriguez took over in the second half. The second goal of his brace was a penalty in the 70th minute, but his first was a statement-making goal in the 47th minute to tie things up.

Check out the video his absolute banger.

As @Ultra_Suristic noted, only Lionel Messi has scored more goals from outside the box this season in La Liga than Oscar, who has made the highlight reel several times this year.

There was something particularly satisfying about this goal, though. It should honestly be known as one of the goals of the season because Oscar had almost no angle to get this shot off.

He went for a difficult volley from the side with a crowd of players around him just outside the box, and he couldn’t have hit the ball any better than he did. Oscar’s strike smacked the underside of the bar and emphatically bounced over the goal-line. There are few more satisfying sights in football than seeing a player strike the ball like that.

Oscar now has five goals and two assists in the 2019-2020 season. While the 21-year-old attacking midfielder lacks consistency, he is exciting to watch. He can beat defenders and, most notably, score incredible goals like this one against Villarreal.

Hopefully, there will be more bangers and braces to come for Oscar, who has shown real value to other interested clubs around La Liga. He’s been critical in helping Leganes in the relegation battle, and his goals have helped them earn much-needed points, including in this game vs. Villarreal.

Real Madrid have so many talented attacking midfielders, such as Real Sociedad’s Martin Odegaard and Mallorca’s Takefusa Kubo, so Oscar Rodriguez will want to continue to show to his parent club that they should keep him in mind in their future plans. It won’t be easy for him to carve out a spot, but these wonderful goals are worth keeping in mind.
