Real Madrid right winger Gareth Bale is already thinking about life after football, and he has quite the entrepreneurial mindset.
While the 2019-2020 La Liga season was a campaign to forget for Real Madrid legend Gareth Bale, the Wales international is already looking towards the future. And by “future”, I don’t just mean the 2020-2021 season. I mean life after football.
At the age of 30 and with a history of injuries, Bale might only have a few years of professional football left in him. So it’s important for a footballer, even one as successful as Bale has been, to think about what’s next.
Bale has already opened one bar in Cardiff, and MARCA reports he has a second planned later this year in the same city.
And this bar is going to have a golf theme. Because of course it is.
Bale’s latest venture will be called “Par 59”, and he’s reportedly been busy supervising the project in between his footballing duties with Real Madrid and Wales.
His first bar in Cardiff is “Elevens”, which is, as the name suggests, themed after football. So it’s pretty awesome that Bale is finding a way to combine his two favorite sports and using them to create experiences where he can share that loves with his fans in the capital city of his home country.
According to MARCA, Bale’s newest bar will also be in the city center of Cardiff and will actually be in the basement of a building so that it can have minigolf courses. That sounds like it could be an awesome, interactive experience and night for people.
It’s awesome to see athletes thinking ahead about their futures and finding ways to monetize their passion beyond athletics. Another bar business showcasing what Bale loves seems like it could be incredibly successful, and surely people will enjoy the experience of being able to minigolf year-round in a different type of environment in the city.
