ST Harry Kane

First things first: Tottenham Hotspur probably aren’t selling Harry Kane this summer. Yes, Kane is coming off another disappointing, injury-plagued season, but Tottenham need high-quality players more than they need cash. And a healthy Kane is everything Spurs need to be dangerous in Europe – and England – again.

That said, Kane has been linked to Real Madrid every so often and is heading into his prime years as a No. 9. Kane is 26 and was mighty effective when healthy this season, scoring 11 times in the Premier League and 6 times in 5 Champions League games.

The England captain could shine at a club with Real’s midfield and more organized managing, but the price to sign him would be ridiculous. Tottenham could be looking for 150 million euros if Kane is even for sale, and if that money was too much for Paul Pogba, then it is surely too much for a player with even more question marks.

With so many better options available, dumping 150 million euros – or even anything more than 100 million euros – on Kane would be insanity from Real Madrid’s perspective. Even signing Lautaro Martinez would be better, because at least Los Blancos would be hurting a rival in the process of signing a striker four years younger.
