Real Madrid, as a club, has the biggest social media following of any sports team in the world. Some of the players boast a large following as well and include interesting and entertaining content on their personal accounts. These are three Los Blancos players you need to be following on Twitter!

Nearly two months ago – it’s hard to believe that we have been without sports for that long – I came up with my top five Real Madrid players I would want to be in quarantine with.

The reasoning behind each ranged from off-field behavior, past success on both the club and international level, and the player’s social media presence. Today, we are going to look at the top three Madrid players who have must-follow Twitter accounts.

Looking for some behind the scenes of a guy’s life or what happens in training? I recommend following these guys!

3. Marcelo – @MarceloM12 (11.8 million followers)

The Brazilian fullback is an outgoing guy who has a personality that makes supporters and opponents like him because he is so easy-going. You will often catch Marcelo sporting a beaming smile whether it’s in training or preparing for a big match.

Although he has millions of followers, he doesn’t have the biggest social media presence on Twitter.

When you glance through it, it looks like a typical Real Madrid supporter’s feed. Retweeting a lot of the club’s posts and lots of pictures from the decade he has spent in Spain.

While his Twitter is mainly used for business reasons and endorsement deals, there is some quality content here. Like pictures of his kids – Enzo and Liam – his entire family, and what life is like as a footballer.

Following the Brazilian international always brings a smile to my face and if you are looking for some uplifting content and good vibes, Marcelo is the guy to go to.

2. Karim Benzema – @Benzema (10.9 million followers)

Karim was one of the first names that came to mind when making the quarantine list and he was an easy selection for this list as well.

The French international has always been known for his energetic and at times eccentric personality off the field, so, if you are looking for fancy cars, dream vacations, and a man dedicated to his profession, look no further than the Big Benz.

Karim is one of the few players on Real Madrid’s current roster that always voices his opinion. As you probably recall, Karim was in big trouble a few years back after blackmailing French teammate Mathieu Valbuena, and recently, he has been unhappy with the French Football Federation for not selecting him for the national team.

He has spoken out on the situation and has made his feelings regarding the manager right now – Didier Deschamps – very clear. He also doesn’t have the best relationship with Chelsea striker Oliver Giroud at the moment either.

As a side note, whoever creates these videos does a tremendous job. These are pretty entertaining to watch.

1. Sergio Ramos – @SergioRamos (17.1 million followers)

Of course the captain comes in at number one on this list!

Sergio is very active on social media and seems to post either a picture or video every single day. During the layoff from play, Ramos has been even more active posting motivating videos working out, applauding medical personnel, and showing what his family is up to.

Sergio is the perfect Twitter user by posting plenty of media as well as interacting with fans. Not to mention, trolling a fellow European club really helps gain attention and support.
