Real Madrid center midfielder Fede Valverde has been arguably the biggest breakout star at the position in the 2019-2020 season, and his emergence has made it less likely for Los Blancos to sign Paul Pogba.

That said, Manchester United seem to be more willing to part ways with Pogab in the summer 2020 transfer window than they were last year when they were asking Real for a ridiculous amount of money.

It’s no secret that Zidane wants to have Pogba on his side as a centerpiece player in his tactical scheme, and there are stars of the past who agree that the hard-working midfielder is an ideal playmaker for the legendary manager.

Pogba is a Ballon d’Or-quality player at a club like Real Madrid, which has the infrastructure and stability to support him, unlike the poorly-managed United. While United is on the ascent and is actually making smart signings, such as Bruno Fernandes, Pogba’s days at Old Trafford appear to be numbered.

The question for Real Madrid is this: Can they afford to spend on Pogba’s wages and transfer price? It seems like Juventus has become the favorites for Pogba, especially since the Bianconeri need him more.

At 27 years old, Pogba is still in the prime of his career and can thus be a part of the future for Real, too.
