Real Madrid: Here’s how much PSG want for Neymar
Don’t rule out Real Madrid pursuing Neymar if the price is right.
Last summer, Barcelona did their best to try and reunite with Neymar, who expressed his desire to leave PSG after only recently moving to the Ligue 1 giants for a record-breaking 222 million euros.
But Barcelona weren’t the only team interested, as Real Madrid made a few contacts in order to disrupt a deal, though they ended up spending on Eden Hazard and a bevy of young players.
It’s highly unlikely Los Blancos make another effort at Neymar, though they are almost certainly monitoring the player’s situation in Paris.

When it comes to the absolute best players in the world, Real are always aware of what’s going on. And they have a great relationship with PSG.
Real Madrid have bigger priorities, though, and they are more interested in selling to spend and saving up money during this financial crisis due to COVID-19.
They can emerge from it strong with patience, given their young talent and their eyes on future top scorers Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. They are Real’s priorities.
Still, some Madridistas are dreaming of Neymar, who is arguably the best player in the world. Whenever he’s on the pitch, PSG look so much more dangerous.
Recall that Real were dominating PSG in November before both Eden Hazard’s injury and Neymar’s substitution, which sparked the away team’s attack.
According to a report from Sport, via BeIN Sports USA, PSG are asking for about 175 million euros in exchange for Neymar. That represents a reasonable drop-off in asking price from last summer, when they wanted a value in excess of the 222 million euros they spent on him. They wanted to make a profit on Neymar, but that was never going to be the case.
However, even 175 million euros is too expensive in this market. Neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid should spend that much on Neymar, as good as he is. And for PSG, it is clear they are selling to increase their chances at paying Mbappe huge wages to keep him away from Real.
So for Real Madrid, they know they can only spend on one of Mbappe or Neymar. Yes, Neymar is special, but Mbappe is younger, has less injury risk, and will end up being even better.
