Real Madrid RW Rodrygo Goes

With Marco Asensio out injured and Gareth Bale delivering mediocre performances, Zidane thrust Rodrygo Goes into the mix at the right wing position

The former Santos prodigy made his debut against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu, coming off the bench and scoring just 92 seconds after his introduction, making his the second-fastest goalscorer for Real Madrid on debut after fellow legendary countryman Ronaldo Nazário (he scored in 61 seconds).

Rodrygo’s record-creating streak didn’t stop there. He went on to become the second-youngest player in the history of the UEFA Champions League (at just 18 years and 301 days, behind Real legend Raúl) to score a hat-trick when he scored three goals against Galatarasay in a 6-0 victory at the Bernabéu.

He made the right wing his own and formed a crucial attacking trident alongside Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema.

In all, the promising Brazilian has found the back of the net seven times and assisted two times in 19 appearances in all competitions. He was also called up by Tite for Brazil’s senior side.

The ceiling is very high for the 19-year-old, and he will be expected to play an important role off the bench when the 2019-2020 La Liga season resumes.
