CF Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema has been in excellent form for Real Madrid, bouncing back from a slow first few months of 2020 in which the goals ran dry for the former France international. Now, Benzema has three goals since the restart to exceed his goal-scoring output from January to March. He has done a great job of creating chances for others, showing his all-around quality against Eibar, Valencia, and Mallorca.

On Sunday, Benz will go up against Leonardo Cabrera and Bernardo Espinosa at center back. Both players are capable of shutting down attacks and are protected by Marc Roca and the midfield. Benzema could find space at a premium, but his ability to dribble past defenders and link up to the other forwards should come in handy.

LW Vinicius Junior

The best player on the pitch against both Real Sociedad and Mallorca, Vinicius Junior is in top form and should garner another start in Zinedine Zidane’s squad. It may be difficult to find a way to start both Vinicius and Eden Hazard in a way that allows both star players to be at their best, but Zidane should be able to figure out an optimal set-up.

Either way, Vinicius looks likely to be in the lineup against Espanyol, especially after scoring such a delicious chip vs. Mallorca. The Brazilian left winger’s confidence is at an all-time high, and few players in La Liga are as good tactically at finding soft spots in defenses and relentlessly attacking them. If he plays, Vinicius could be the best player on the pitch for a third game in a row.
