Vinicius Junior at 100 percent

Vinicius Junior is reaching new heights in 2019-2020, having cemented his status as a key player for Real Madrid by playing better than anyone else in the most recent Clasico. Since La Liga’s return, Vini hasn’t been featured as often due to Eden Hazard’s return to health and Rodrygo Goes’ success on the left side, but he was the best player in back-to-back wins over Real Sociedad and RCD Mallorca, scoring an especially delightful chipped goal vs. the latter.

The 19-year-old didn’t start against either Athletic Bilbao or Deportivo Alaves, which means he stands a good chance of starting against Granada. He could play as either a forward with Karim Benzema in the diamond formation or as a more traditional left winger in Real’s usual 4-3-3 setup, which should be preferred at Granada.

No matter what, Vinicius Junior will cause problems. He has three goals this season and an average of 1.6 dribbles per game, which is actually skewed low since he’s made more appearances off the bench than starts. If Vinicius were a full-time starter, he would be the league’s leader in dribbles completed per game, given his relentless work rate, aggressive attacking style, skill, and growing confidence.

Victor Diaz will have his hands full, and he can push the wing back into his own territory while embarrassing Granada’s back three. With ample rest, Vinicius is the kind of player who can lead a blowout victory for Real Madrid against Granada.
