2. June 19, 3-0 win over Valencia

Real Madrid could only get a last-gasp draw out of Valencia at the notoriously difficult Mestalla in December, but they ran into no problems at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in June after La Liga’s return. And the key difference between the sides was Eden Hazard – and later Marco Asensio.

Hazard shined the brightest before Asensio stole the show, owning Valencia’s defense with his dribbling and intelligent movement off the ball. He bagged an assist, tied his season-high with four shots, completed three dribbles, and set a season-high with four key passes. Hazard was confident and in control of Valencia, who were torn to shreds.

1. November 24, 3-1 win over Real Sociedad

Martin Odegaard played well in his return to the Santiago Bernabeu, but the Europa League-qualifying Real Sociedad were otherwise decimated by Real Madrid. Eden Hazard played the starring role in one of the finest individual performances of the 2019-2020 La Liga season by any player, slicing through La Real’s lines like they were made of dribbling cones.

The Belgian had a staggering 10 dribbles completed with seven more fouls drawn, taking four shots and adding two key passes in the process. Karim Benzema had the goals, but Hazard created one of those goals by drawing a penalty. And it was his tireless running and skillful, slaloming runs that made all the difference for Los Blancos in an important victory.
