Real Madrid, Arsenal CM Dani Ceballos

There are three possible options for Real Madrid with Dani Ceballos. They can keep him for the 2020-2021 season like they are doing with Martin Odegaard, who played the 2019-2020 season with Real Sociedad on loan. Real can loan him out again. And finally, Ceballos could be sold permanently, with Arsenal still interested in his services.

Ceballos is slept on by a lot of fans. When the Premier League returned to action this summer, Ceballos established himself as the team’s second-best player alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gunners wouldn’t have been half as successful without Ceballos, who stepped up big-time in a deeper role as both a leader and defensive presence.

A well-rounded midfielder, Ceballos is still wanted by Real Betis, his old club before signing with Real Madrid. The smart money is on Ceballos being loaned to Arsenal again, because he’s too good to sell. Real don’t like selling talented young players unless it is 100 percent clear they have no future with the club (Borja Mayoral, for example), but even then they like to include buy-back clauses as with Oscar.

Ceballos, Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta fit perfectly, but there’s an argument to be made that Real Madrid need Ceballos in 2020-2021. Their midfield has added Odegaard, yes, but it is still looking quite thin.
