Real Madrid RW Sofia Jakobsson

The third Galactica from the 2019 summer transfer window, Sofia Jakobsson is Kosovare Asllani’s teammate on the Swedish national team, too. Jakobsson is one of the fastest players in the world and was part of an exciting Sweden attack that stressed every defense they faced in the 2019 World Cup.

Last season at Real Madrid, Jakobsson was the team’s best player, even over Chioma Ubogagu and Asllani. Jakobsson had the most goals and assists on the team with seven goals and eight assists.

Like Asllani and Ubogagu, Jakobsson is a high-energy player. She seems to have endless stamina and pace, providing blistering runs for a full 90 – or even 120 – minutes. Jakobsson plays on the right side so that she can play the ball into the box via a well-placed cross and stretch back fours wide, but she is like a striker in the box. She has a poacher’s instinct.

What makes Real Madrid’s front three so exciting is that all three players are hard-working, athletic, and as adept as setting for a teammate as they are at scoring themselves. A fluid front three with combination play is the dream here, and Jakobsson has already proven that she can be a crucial player for Las Blancas.
