Real Madrid Midfield

Teresa Abelleira

The Galician had a forgettable debut, but the amount of talent she possesses is undeniable. She gave away a lot of balls and wasn’t able to build the tempo in the midfield. Playing as the deepest midfielder out of the three midfielders didn’t help her case too, as the relentless pressing of Barcelona forced her to concede the possession. However, we could probably attribute that to being rusty. Against Valencia, she will be hoping to prove a point.

Aurélie Kaci

The French midfielder couldn’t quite influence the proceedings in the middle of the pitch, but that doesn’t mean she was THAT bad either. She helped carry the ball during the transitions and was hard to hedge off the ball. She also linked well with the attackers since she was often the most advanced midfielder. Against Valencia, she will hope to have a bigger impact.

Maite Oroz

Another player that made her debut for Real Madrid Femenino after signing for the team in summer, Maite Oroz was assigned the role to pull the strings and use her creativity to unsettle the opposition. It was just her first match, so she will definitely improve. But encouraging signs from her in the first game and she will be itching to put on a dominant display in midfield against Valencia.
