Real Madrid: Another defender is close to signing an extension

There’s been a lot of talk about Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid closing in on an extension, but he isn’t the only defender Los Blancos want to keep for a while.

By then, the player will be over the age of 30 and ready to yield his spot in the squad to someone else. Maybe Los Blancos will buy back Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan.

In any case, Carvajal is a part of Real’s near future. It’s impossible to think of a right back Los Blancos would rather have than him, because his all-around game is just so good. Carvajal adds a lot to the attack with his dribbling ability and passing into the box, and he’s a great defensive presence in the tackle, even if he’s an imperfect defender.

While Carvajal will slow down as his contract continues, he is currently in the prime of his career and can stand toe-to-toe with anyone as the world’s best right back.
