Real Madrid will need to make some sales in the summer 2021 transfer window if Florentino Perez is still keen on signing a Galactico. Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are on the table, but the latter is much more affordable than the former. Even so, Mbappe remains the dream, and if Perez wants him, he may have to sell a couple of prized players to get him

But there are a handful of players who are off-limits. These are players who will be there for the next several years and who are indispensible to Real’s success in the long-term.

According to MARCA’s Jose Felix Diaz, there are six “untouchable” players to Real Madrid. Defensive midfielder Casemiro is one of them, as there is nobody else who can do what he does. He is the world’s best at the position. Superstar goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and world-class midfielder Toni Kroos are among them. And it’s no surprise to see right back Dani Carvajal on teh list as well, given his importance to the back line.

Those are four tried-and-true players, but it is interesting to see the two youngsters who are mentioned as untouchable. They are center midfielder Fede Valverde and forward Rodrygo Goes.

Real Madrid center midfielder Fede Valverde is already one of the position’s best

Real Madrid are wise to consider both of those players untouchable above the rest of the promising youngsters.

Valverde is already one of the world’s best midfielders. Few can replicate his all-around ability. His defensive work, athleticism, technical class, and even eye for goal are all excellent. Before injuries, Valverde was right there with Luka Modric as Real’s most valuable player in the 2020-2021 season. And last year, he was one of Europe’s biggest breakout stars and vital to the title.

Rodrygo has shown his quality, as well. The 20-year-old Brazilian’s chance-creation and dribbling ability rate highly among his peers, and he had one goal and five assists in limited minutes in all competitions this season before his most recent injury.

As far as long-term upside goes, there is nobody with more than Rodrygo. He has all the tools it takes to become the next superstar forward for Real Madrid. Rodrygo is advanced for his age as a forward when it comes to his movement off the ball and his technical quality on it. With just a few more strides and a few more big games under his belt, Rodrygo can become a very productive player in terms of both goals and assists.

The 5 players Real Madrid should have never sold. dark. Next

Untouchable? Yes, Rodrygo absolutely is. He belongs to be on this list of six, just as Fede does. They are two real building blocks for Perez and the club. Other outfits will come calling, but surely this duo will remain in Madrid for many years.
