Real Madrid need to make use of Isco

Isco is Real Madrid’s fifth midfielder, but he’s also a capable starter on either wing when Los Blancos need creativity in a “free” role. I don’t want to exaggerate, because it’s easy to do that when a talented-but-inconsistent player starts improving their performances.

That said, Isco was excellent in the first half against Real Sociedad and stood out as the best player on the pitch, days after he looked useful in the first half against Atalanta. He is slowly regaining his fitness and form, but he had some wonderful moments against La Real. Isco could have had an assist, as he finished the match with four key passes, per WhoScored.com.

In the 2019-2020 season, Isco was a big-game player for Real Madrid. The Andalusian attacking midfielder was a star man against the likes of Barcelona and Osasuna, and I hope his performance in that Clasico does not get forgotten.

Isco hasn’t always been stellar for Real and could very well play somewhere else next season, but Real are a better team when he’s involved. He is their most creative man now that Martin Odegaard is with Arsenal on loan, and Zinedine Zidane can make use of him. Isco can be a real X-Factor for Los Blancos, particularly in the Champions League. If you have an asset like him, you need to use him.
