Improve in finishing and boost his goal contribution numbers

4 goals and 4 assists in a season are average numbers for a 20-year-old winger. But for a winger at Real Madrid, those numbers won’t satisfy anyone. The level of expectations at Los Blancos is of a very high level. A young player shouldn’t be judged only on the basis of numbers and Vinicius has been good this season, but that won’t change the fact that numbers are important.

Having played 1372 minutes for Real Madrid in LaLiga, Vinicius has 3 goals in LaLiga. he has underperformed his xG of 5.40 in the league. And people who watch Vinicius don’t even need the numbers to say that he’s underperforming in front of the goal and he needs to improve in that aspect of his game.

He gets into those dangerous positions thanks to his superb dribbling prowess and decent off-the-ball movement, but he doesn’t guarantee the end product. He never looks comfortable before the goal, finishing doesn’t come naturally to him. His awkward body posture while shooting and the shooting technique give away why he’s struggling to score goals continuously.

People often say that “If Vinicius knew how to finish, he can become one of the best,” but sadly there are no if’s and but’s in football. But at the same time, nothing is permanent in football. Anything is possible through hard work and dedication.

Vinicius is a dedicated guy, and he gives a lot of priority to his fitness. He’s the only Real player along with Casemiro to not have a muscular injury this season. If he shows the same dedication in improving his finishing, he will definitely improve. And apparently, he has been working overtime with his manager, to focus on improving his finishing skills.

Vinicius needs to improve as quickly as possible, preferably before the season ends. Of course, it won’t be an overnight change, but having a strong end to the season will definitely keep his critics at bay during the summer. It would be good if he ends the season with 10 goals, but it is a highly unrealistic target. With a minimum of twelve games left, he should look to end the season with at least 13 to 15 goals and assists to his name, which can be a realistic target for him.
