Real Madrid want to sign Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and David Alaba all in the same summer. If president Florentino Perez wants to pull off this nearly impossible feat, then he certainly has to sell quite a number of players who are no longer capable of being regulars for Los Blancos in 2021-2022.

According to a report from Libertad Digital’s Sergio Valentin, Real Madrid have a whopping nine players in mind as “transferable”. That does not mean they are going to sell all of them or will shop all of them with the same aggressiveness, but it does sound like they are open to selling them at a decent price in order to raise the significant funds necessary to sign the aforementioned trio, which Valentin’s own reporting corroborates.

Alvaro Odriozola, Marcelo, Jesus Vallejo, and Eder Militao are the four defenders reportedly up for sale. Out of those three, Militao is the only surprising one, since he could be a future asset and is a good defender. But he is fourth-choice on the team behind Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, and Nacho Fernandez. So he could be out the door.

Odriozola is an obvious sale, given how poorly he’s played this season. Vallejo is an even easier sale. Marcelo is iffy, but since he is getting older and has one year left on his deal, Real may cut ties with him to save money from their wage bill. He is no longer a capable left back and would have to transition to a more attacking position.

Real Madrid want to sell two midfielders and three forwards

In midfield, Valentin writes that Los Blancos, Isco and loanee Dani Ceballos are sellable. That should be clear to Madridistas. Isco is still a quality player, but he has no real place in the club’s future. Ceballos has flopped on loan this season at Arsenal and must go. If the fans of the ninth-placed team in the Premier League are frustrated with Ceballos, imagine how Madridistas would respond to his aimless passing and shocking mental lapses.

As for the attack, three more names pop up. Gareth Bale is a must-sell due to his astronomical wages of 30 million euros. Good luck to Real Madrid in their quest to find anyone willing to take on his salary, but maybe some magic can happen.

The final two names are strikers Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic. Real Madrid unsuccessfully tried to get rid of Mariano last summer, so now they must 100 percent part ways with a striker who turned in many embarrassing performances this season. Jovic is doing decently well on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, but Los Blancos appear ready to give up on the 60 million euro man. Valentin even reports that Real are outright disappointed in him both on and off the pitch.

None of the nine names reported here are surprises. They are all players whom Real Madrid could conceivably sell, and more than half the list qualify as must-sells, either because they have no place or because they would save Real a significant amount of money in their determined effort to bring in actual superstars to compete at the highest level.
