Real Madrid right back Dani Carvajal has been injured four times in the 2020-2021 season. He and Eden Hazard have been hit the hardest by the injury bug, as Los Blancos have missed the likes of these two star players, Sergio Ramos, Fede Valverde, and more in this grueling season.

Carvajal made his return to the team on Feb. 14 against Valencia, but he was only able to play 28 minutes before aggravating his injury. Lucas Vazquez came onto the pitch and ably replaced him.

But now Vazquez is out for the season after suffering an injury in El Clasico, leaving Alvaro Odriozola, who struggled in that same game and has been unreliable this season, as the only option at right back. That’s not ideal at all, and it means Madridistas are putting more hopes on a Carvajal return.

According to MARCA, Dani Carvajal will not be back against Liverpool, barring a “major surprise”. He has been expected to miss the second leg, so this is not a surprise.

Dani Carvajal is expected to return for Real Madrid at Cadiz next week

It does not seem like Carvajal is expected to return this weekend for La Liga’s Matchday 33 against Getafe either.

MARCA writes that Carvajal is expected to make his return to the Real Madrid lineup next week against Cadiz. Los Blancos will look for revenge against the newly-promoted side they lost to 1-0 earlier this year, as they will face this Yellow Submarine on Wednesday night at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza.

It’s good to hear that Carvajal is on track for a recovery on Matchday 31 against Cadiz. He will be missed at Anfield, but it is better for him not to be rushed. If that means Odriozola must start against Getafe or another creative solution must be found – a back three with Marvin Park on the right side worked wonders the first time around – then so be it.

Carvajal is the best right back in the world, and he makes Real’s defense so much better. Madridistas can circle April 21 on their calendar as the date of the 29-year-old’s expected return to action.
