Real Madrid right winger and right back Lucas Vazquez could leave the club in the summer 2021 transfer window. Although there is still time for a renewal, the speculation over the past several weeks has been that Real and Vazquez are far apart.

Vazquez seemingly wants a raise after becoming an even more important part of the squad this year. He’s had some big performances for Real Madrid, including in that must-win final group stage game against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League. Vazquez’s ability to step up at right back for Dani Carvajal has been massive for Real, and the club probably would not be in a position to compete for the La Liga and Champions League titles if it weren’t for Vazquez.

But Los Blancos want to save money during the pandemic and are asking players to take salary decreases on new deals. Vazquez asking for a raise makes 100 percent sense from his perspective, but Real do not appear to be accepting of this request due to their principle of wage cuts. Hopefully, they change their perspective, but, if not, Vazquez has options.

After already being linked with reigning treble winners Bayern Munich, Lucas Vazquez is now reportedly on PSG’s radar.

PSG know Lucas Vazquez can be an asset for them, and Real Madrid must take special notice of this

According to AS, PSG want Vazquez because he can increase the quality of the right side of their formation in a variety of ways. Not only can he supplement Angel Di Maria in the attack, but he can also potentially start over Alessandro Florenzi and be an upgrade on Colin Dagba in the right back role. And the fullback positions are important attacking positions as wide outlets in the PSG setup.

Per the report, Vazquez still wants to wait and hold out hope that he and Real Madrid can come to terms on a deal, since he loves the club so much. And that would be the ideal situation for both sides, considering how much Vazquez has given to Los Blancos over the years, especially this season.

But PSG will be there to swoop in if Real do not come to their senses. It is telling that Bayern and PSG want Vazquez. That shows Madridistas that their renewed love for Vazquez is not some fluke. He is indeed a great squad player to have, and the two teams that were in the Champions League Final last season recognize his ability to help them win more games next year.

More importantly, the interest from these two clubs show Madridistas that Vazquez is someone who needs to be kept around. But the fans aren’t the ones who need convincing. It is Florentino Perez and the club’s decision-makers. Zinedine Zidane wants Vazquez to stay, of course, and hopefully his influence can help sway Perez. Seeing Vazquez holding Champions League gold with another club would surely sting.
