Real Madrid will have to make some sales in the summer 2021 transfer window. They raised funds last summer and will make a significant amount of money from this season’s successful Champions League campaign, but in order to sign top targets Kylian Mbappe and/or Erling Haaland, they will need to make some additional cash.

Players like Isco, Mariano Diaz, and Gareth Bale figure to be on the shortlist, as Real will either want to get rid of their wages or even get a decent fee from them. But you can rest assured that Real will not part ways with any of their prized youngsters.

That’s because MARCA’s Carlos Carpio reports that Real Madrid’s top four young standouts are seen as “untouchable” this summer. None of Rodrygo Goes, Fede Valverde, Vinicius Junior, or loanee Martin Odegaard are expected to be sold. Real reportedly sees these players as “key pieces” to their future.

Most Madridistas are not surprised by this information, but seeing this as confirmation in writing will come as a relief to many. We already knew that Fede and Rodrygo were untouchable to Real. But there were some doubts about Vini and Odegaard. The latter could potentially remain with Arsenal, while the former could potentially be used in a swap with PSG.

Real Madrid have no intention of selling Vinicius Junior or Martin Odegaard

However, recent reporting, including this article from MARCA, has rubbished both outcomes. Vinicius and Odegaard have massive potential, and they are playing very well in the second half of the 2020-2021 season. Like Rodrygo and Valverde, they aren’t going anywhere.

If Real Madrid can sign a true superstar player like Mbappe or Haaland, they will be set. Those four current first-team players have world-class potential, and many will argue that Valverde is already at that level. So if you throw in a young forward who can score 30 goals in a season, that’s the missing piece to building an unstoppable nucleus.

That’s been Florentino Perez’s goal. He wants to assemble a squad of young players who can grow and dominate together. Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius, and Odegaard are all a part of that plan, with Valverde already being a consistent standout in the first team.

It is reassuring to hear that Real do not plan on selling any of these players, no matter how much a team like PSG may try to tempt them.
