Barcelona ST Jenni Hermoso

We stick with Barcelona to discuss a world-class striker who is at the heart of Spain’s rise at the national level and has been one of Primera Iberdrola’s elite players for years. Jenni Hermoso is one of the most clinical finishers you’ll find, as her technique and accuracy are unmatchable in the entire league. She scored 77 goals in 90 appearances in her first stint with Barcelona, went to PSG, came back to Spain to be the league’s top scorer with Atletico Madrid, and has now scored in more games than she’s appeared in during her current stint with La Blaugrana.

Beyond the fact that Hermoso is second in the league with 21 goals already, she is also one of the three players in Primera Iberdrola with double-digit assists. It’s remarkable that she’s creating so much for her teammates, given how frequently she finds the back of the net.

Playing with a ton of world-class players at Barcelona helps Hermoso’s numbers, but she is the one doing a lot of the helping for those same teammates, too. As we saw at Atleti, she can lead a team to the title with her own brilliance.

Levante FW Esther Gonzalez

Versatile Levante striker Esther Gonzalez has been the phenomenon of the 2020-2021 Primera Iberdrola season, even above Real Madrid’s breakout stars Misa and Marta Cardona. Esther has five more goals than Hermoso, as she has breathing room as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals for the Champions League challengers.

Not only has Gonzalez scored a ton of goals for the Frogs, but she’s also scored some spectacular goals, including a bicycle kick. She has always been a good striker, but this is truly a breakout year for her. Esther strikes fear in the heart of every single defense she faces, because you never know where she’s going to pop up. And she only needs one chance to change the game.
