Real Madrid FW Sofia Jakobsson

Real Madrid are in third place and just one point behind Esther Gonzalez’s Levante in the table, and their best player has been Sofia Jakobsson. They’ve had a handful of excellent performers, with Cardona providing the most highlight-reel plays and Kosovare Asllani the most goals in the attack. But when it comes to consistency and all-around impact, the pacy Jakobsson is No. 1.

Jakobsson has scored some great, powerful goals from range this season, and she never stops working on either flank for the team. She is among Primera Iberdorla’s leaders with eight assists and also has eight goals. There are times when Real are struggling and Jakobsson is the one who pulls them out of a difficult situation by scoring a goal from nothing. Her crosses and runs off-the-ball into the box from wide positions are sources of goal creation for this team.

Since joining Tacon before the 2019-2020 season, Jakobsson has been Real’s outstanding player and deserves recognition as one of the league’s best.

Barcelona AM Alexia Putellas

A third Barcelona star makes the list, to nobody’s surprise. Alexia Putellas is another world-class attacker for La Blaugrana, and she, like Jenni Hermoso, is near the top of the goal and assist charts. The Spanish international has 16 goals this season, which places her in third behind Esther and Jenni. She is also among several Barcelona players with eight assists, tying her in fifth place overall in the league.

Putellas has starred for Barcelona since 2012, and she continues to be one of the foundational stars of this team nearly a decade later. Yet she is still just 27, which shows you how accomplished the 2020 SheBelieves Cup Player of the Tournament is.

Capable of playing as a forward, winger, or attacking midfielder, Putellas is another nightmare for defenses to deal with. She is as consistent as they come and an inspiring figure to Barcelona for all she’s done at the club over the years. And she is absolutely one of the best players in Europe, if not the best overall attacking midfielder.
