Real Madrid at Granada, May 13

Madridistas surely won’t make the mistake of underestimating Granada, because they just saw their eternal rivals Barcelona lose 2-1 to a team desperate to make it back to the Europa League.

Currently, Granada sit in 8th in La Liga, and they are within striking distance of Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis, five points behind Los Verdiblancos. So like Sevilla, though to a lesser extent, Granada are more than capable of taking points off Real Madrid in mid-May.

But Granada just don’t have much attacking talent. It’s going to be hard to see them putting two past Los Blancos, who have a significantly better defense than La Blaugrana.

Real already beat Granada earlier this season, and this was despite losing Rodrygo Goes to an injury in the first half. I can only imagine what a fully healthy Eden Hazard might be able to do to them down that left-hand side of the Real attack.

Granada are a solid football team, but these are the kinds of games Real win convincingly when it’s all on the line. I could see this being the kind of game that gives Real Madrid the confidence boost they need to win the final two matches of the season, which are both very difficult ones.

Prediction: Real Madrid 3, Granada 0
