Real Madrid are still alive in the Spanish title race. They, however, aren’t guiding the destiny of it. It is Atletico Madrid who enjoys an upper hand, winning all the matches can get them to the crown. While Real Madrid will have to win all their remaining games and hope for Atleti to drop points in the remaining matchdays in the league.

Los Blancos face the Andalusian side, Granada CF next away from home. As is evident by the above discussion, it’s a must-win for the team in white. Here are the keys to victory at Los Carmenes.

1. Keep Karim Benzema in service

Real Madrid has maintained a terrific away record in LaLiga this season. They have only lost once away from home to Valencia – a 4-1 defeat that had three penalties and one own-goal on Valencia’s scorecard. Whereas, Karim Benzema scored the only goal for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid’s latest away fixture was a 0-3 victory over Cadiz, memorable for the Karim Benzema masterclass that was on display. The Frenchman scored a penalty at the half-hour mark, created one for Alvaro Odriozola just three minutes later, and headed home a second himself through a Carlos Casemiro lob.

This should remain Real Madrid’s game plan at Los Carmenes too. And, for the likelihood of it, a King Karim show is predictable. Even after a massive upset delivered to FC Barcelona, Diego Martinez’s side hasn’t been able to respond. They host the Champions after two defeats at hands of Cadiz, followed by Real Betis.

As such, keeping Benzema in service would be key. The Frenchman can find the required finishes or use his creativity to create for someone else. He would be the main man up front in a match where the Andalusians will miss their highest scorer this season, Roberto Soldado.
