6. Mesut Ozil – 15 Million Euros

Mesut Ozil spent just three seasons at Real Madrid, after being signed from Werder Bremen in the summer of 2010. He was signed after a good World Cup campaign, but his performances in the next three seasons were even better that it made people wonder how Real Madrid got such a wonderful player for just 15 million euros, that too amidst competition from Barcelona and Arsenal.

In those three seasons under Jose Mourinho, he netted 27 times and assisted 80 goals. Ever assist of his was simply a sensation, and he was considered to be among the best playmakers of that time. You could call him the king of assists, as he finished every LaLiga season between 2010 and 2013 as the player with the most assists. He was so efficient in the final third that he had a goal contribution every 106 minutes while being a No.10.

He left the club for Arsenal on the deadline day of the 2013 summer transfer window, as the club looked to raise funds for the signing of Gareth Bale. Though he spent just three seasons at Real Madrid, his contribution to the club’s overall performance and the 2011/12 LaLiga success was so valuable that it made a 15 million transfer fee look so minimal.

5. Toni Kroos – 25 Million Euros

The next player on the list is another German and one of the current Real Madrid players, Toni Kroos. His transfer fee of 25 million Euros is the highest on this list, but to get a player like Toni Kroos for that sum was really a steal. Not to forget that Toni Kroos was signed up by Real Madrid after a successful world cup campaign with Germany where he won the World Cup and was one of Germany’s best players.

In these 7 seasons, Toni Kroos has spent at Real Madrid, he has been one of the most consistent players and he has already written his name into the history books as one of the greatest Real Madrid midfielders of all time. He has played a crucial role in the club’s successes in UEFA Champions League and LaLiga. His abilities don’t need an introduction and every fan can only be thankful to him and the club for making the deal possible.
