Real Madrid have been linked with Kylian Mbappe for time immemorial. The 22-year-old has always been on the club’s radar and his performances at Paris Saint-Germain have continued to improve with every passing season.

Los Blancos have been patient with their approach towards luring the French international to the Santiago Bernabeu. Over the past two seasons, the tension between Real and Mbappe has only intensified as the need for a proficient goal-scorer continues to thwart Real Madrid’s success on the European stage.

Mbappe recently snubbed a question on his future at Paris Saint-Germain after being asked whether he would continue at the club next season and lead them to their 15th Coupe de France after defeating Moncao 2-0 in the final at Stade de France.

Kylian Mbappe is the kind of player Real Madrid need this summer

Did Kylian Mbappe just snub a question regarding his future at Paris Saint-Germain next season? Well, it does seem like it. And according to Josep Pedrerol, Real Madrid will negotiate a deal with PSG this summer for Mbappe as the player is waiting for an offer from Los Blancos.

It is quite clear why Kylian Mbappe is awaiting an offer from the Spanish capital. The 22-year-old has won everything there is to win in France and has left no stone unturned during his time in Ligue 1. At Real, Mbappe would have to prove himself in one of the most technical leagues in the world, a challenge that the Frenchman would be looking forward to.

The need of the hour at Real is a player of Mbappe’s calibre, which is why Los Blancos will use every trick in the book to sign the 22-year-old this summer. He currently has scored 41 goals and has provided 11 assists in all competitions for PSG this season and has been firing all cylinders even in the most difficult fixtures in the Champions League.

Mbappe scored a hattrick at the Camp Nou which was then followed by a brace at the Allianz Stadium against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. His ability to score in the toughest of fixtures along with his proficiency in front of goal is reminiscent of a prime Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid have lacked such a player on the wings since Ronaldo’s departure and the signing of Mbappe could possibly mark the end of the chapter of finding a replacement.

However, striking a deal with Paris Saint-Germain could be a complicated negotiation this summer as the 2020 Coupe de France winners could demand an exuberant transfer fee since Mbappe’s contract will be running out in 2022.

PSG will be looking at recouping a significant amount of the investment they made in 2018 when they signed him for 145 million euros. Currently, Kylian Mbappe is valued at 160 million euros on the transfer market and it would not be surprising if PSG demand an astronomical figure around the ballpark of 200 million euros.
