EDER MILITAO

Eder Militao was more or less frozen out for the past one and a half years right up until Sergio Ramos’s string of injuries started this season. The Brazilian settled into the team in absolutely no time and was by far the best deputy alongside Nacho Fernandez for the greater and tougher end of the season.

Militao’s impressive performances this season can certainly earn him the role of a starter next season and here’s exactly why. Both, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane are linked with exits, the former has his contract running out in June and is still yet to sign a new deal, while the latter is keen on exploring a new challenge in his career after conquering Spain and Europe in the White shirt.

If either end up leaving this summer transfer window, we could see Eder Militao become a certain starter. The Brazilian has all the abilities to succeed at Real Madrid. He’s smart, good in the air, physically strong to outmuscle opponents, and can even outpace some of the quickest forwards in the game.

However, if either Ramos or Varane stays and if David Alaba is announced in the coming week or so, then Militao’s chances of starting next season could be in contention. Nonetheless, he is certain to receive a lot more minutes next season after his gargantuan performances in the absence of Sergio Ramos in 2020/21.

Verdict- will start often next season given Ramos’s recent run of injuries
