1. Eder Militao

No other player punched any above their weight in the whole Los Blancos squad than the young Brazilian center-back, Eder Militao. Militao was a late-entrant to the regular starting line-up for Real Madrid. His role escalated after both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane were sidelined.

He developed a fine partnership with Nacho at the back. The two players shined as a defensive pair and continued to be Real Madrid’s mainstay towards the end of the season. At a point in time, Madridistas were as confident about Militao in the center-back position as they are about Ramos. His dependability in the air has also earned him the nickname, ‘Air’ Militao.

He announced publicly, what he is capable of with his performances and made quite the case for a permanent presence in Real Madrid’s future defensive lineup. He ends the season with 20 appearances in all competitions in the club, which includes one MOTM outing, per WhoScored. He also has a goal and an assist to his name alongside his affluent defensive record. The goal was a rather important opener against Osasuna from a corner at home.
