Arsenal CM Dani Ceballos

Dani Ceballos is a rather obvious candidate to sell, though he may not be a guaranteed transfer now that Zinedine Zidane has stepped down. All it takes is one coach to believe in him, and Ceballos would have a role in a return to LaLiga next season.

But as it stands right now, Ceballos is very much on the outside looking in. After a good summer under Mikel Arteta in the 2019-2020 season, Ceballos has been downright atrocious in 2020-2021. He’s made more headlines for boneheaded, overly aggressive plays than anything else, and Arsenal fans have grown frustrated with his tendency to hold the ball too long. He’s taken aesthetics over effectiveness on a team that didn’t even make it into European football.

LaLiga is Ceballos’ best bet, and Real Madrid will hope they can find a suitor within the league. The Real Betis reunion links should be revived soon, though I’m not sure the rebounding Verdiblancos want to commit significant money to the midfielder.

Still, it’s easy to forget that Ceballos is 24 years old and can be a good player in the right situation. Arsenal and the Premier League probably weren’t his best bet, though I also don’t think he’s a good fit for Real Madrid either. Los Blancos will want to make some cash off selling Ceballos.
