MIDFIELDERS

The midfield seems to be the only department that will remain unchanged. However, Isco could be heading out this summer transfer window and Martin Odegaard is expected to take his place in the starting eleven. Antonio Blanco will also be promoted to the first team and will play second to fiddle to Casemiro.

The engine room would see Toni Kross and Luka Modric retain their spots after a prolific individual 2020-21 campaign. Both of them were at their best and dominated the middle of the park for a long time until fatigue got the better of the two during the business end of the season.

Casimiro has been a rock-steady with his defensive contribution and has bailed Los Blancos out numerous times this season with his goals. The Brazilian star will remain as an indispensable starter next season.

From the bench, the likes of Antonio Blanco, Dani Ceballos, Fede Valverde and Martin Odegaard will prove the manager enough depth to work with and rotate the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric when needed. Eduardo Camaving has also been linked with a move this summer and his signing could further add depth to the midfield which will be of utmost importance next season.

Verdict- Kroos, Casemiro, Modric
