Raphael Varane:

Varane is one of those players who I just don’t want to leave. He is 28 and just too good. He hasn’t even reached his peak yet and is still getting recognition from fans all over the world. But I guess that it sadly might be his time to leave. The reasons are clear.

He has only a year left on his contract and hasn’t signed an extension yet. Also, with his market value of 70 million Euros, Real would not want him to leave for free. They would rather like to cash in on the opportunity to sell him right now for around 60 million Euros than to keep him for a year and let him go for free.

So, it is a decision to either leaving or signing a new contract. But, with David Alaba’s signing, Varane might want to leave. Manchester United is currently leading the race to sign him. With a tempting offer that the latter club has given to him (although it is a rumor) Varane could be intrigued to leave. Moreover, the French international’s sale might help Madrid finance Mbappe. So, irrespective of whether he leaves or not, he is an asset for Real Madrid.
