The ongoing European Championships have been a great platform for all major European Clubs to see their transfer targets in action. Real Madrid too, has their fair share of players to keep an eye on. As such, the speculative nature involving Raphael Varane’s extension negotiations and El Capitan Sergio Ramos’s heartfelt departure has forced the club to keep a few defenders as transfer targets insight too.

The wider places are well covered, to be honest. The recent inclusion of David Alaba further helps strengthen the defensive left. The need is towering for a central defender to provide some backup to Eder Militao and Nacho Fernandez or may well be a Ramos replacement instead of just going for a backup role.

It is important to address the recent advancement made between France’s Jules Kounde and Real Madrid. Reportedly, an opening offer of 50 million euros has been offered to the Frenchman’s club, Sevilla. Though I mentioned him to be an important transfer target to monitor at the Euros, he wouldn’t make the cut for this list. He hasn’t IMPRESSED. He only played once and even conceded a silly penalty that helped Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal equalize on matchday 3 of the European Championships.

Jules Kounde had impressed earlier this season in LaLiga and if he is given more chances in the European Championships, we may see a better version of him. Generalizing on one single appearance can be a little problematic. However, a lot of other players have given enough on the field for me to list them as potential transfer targets who have impressed. Here is a list of four.
