4. Sevilla LW Lucas Ocampos

Lucas Ocampos of Sevilla had a great season. Towards the ending ambers of the season, Sevilla was pretty much alive in the race towards finishing third, above FC Barcelona which in itself is a great achievement in a league that is generally dominated by the big three, the two clubs from Madrid and Blaugrana.

In their heroics from last season, Lucas Ocampos was a key pillar. He started 30 of Sevilla’s 38 matches and made another four appearances as a substitute. He would easily rank high among the players clocking the most game-time for the club. He had a total of nine goal contributions divided between five goals and four assists, per WhoScored.

He appeared 23 times on the left wing this season. And, in them, he played well enough to be rated at an average of 7.05 by WhoScored. One of the more consistent wide players in the league, Ocampos was seen ten times on the right wing too, and at times in a more suited midfield role on the left.

One of his key strengths is his handy defensive attributes where he does a decent job for a forward averaging nearly one each of tackles, interceptions, and clearances in every match he has played this past season. His successful crosses and long balls have also averaged around one every match.

He has been particularly impressive with his dribbling this season. The same also reflects in the number of free-kicks he won for his side at an average of two per match. He undoubtedly deserves to be on this list of best wingers of La Liga.
