Real Madrid: 5 key players to lead the club to a La Liga title next season
EDER MILITAO- CENTRE BACK
The spotlight next season will be on Eder Militao following Sergio Ramos’ departure. The Brazilian will be slotted straight into the starting eleven and could line up alongside either David Alaba or Nacho Fernandez if Raphael Varane leaves this summer.
Militao endured a difficult one and a half seasons at the Spanish capital under Zinedine Zidane as he barely got minutes underneath his belt. However, Los Blancos lost Ramos and Varane mid-way through last season and Militao struck the iron when it was hot to prove his doubters wrong with sublime consistent performances against the most difficult oppositions.
The Brazilian was an excellent deputy and reminded fans why Real paid a hefty fee to sign him from FC Porto in 2019. He finished last season on a high and even performed admirably well in Copa America, as Brazil made it all the way to the final.
The 23-year-old has immense potential and this would be his first season where he possibly secures a permanent spot in the first team. Militao is certainly a promising player and Carlo Ancelotti can be rest assured that his centre-back will not let him down next season. Militao has an elite mentality and this will certainly help Los Blancos next season in the absence of Sergio Ramos.
