Federico Chiesa (Italy and Juventus/Florentina)

Italy played brilliantly in the UEFA Euro 2020, and they were the deserved winners of the competition. One of the main players behind their success was the young and energetic Federico Chiesa, who put in a wonderful display in the Euros. He scored two goals in the tournament, with both the goals coming at important junctures against Austria and Spain respectively.

Those watching him for the first time will be definitely surprised by his quality, but people following Juventus’ games regularly will definitely know more about the immense quality the Italian international has. He has simply been Juventus’ best player all season along with the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo and has also shown a lot of character on the pitch.

He scored 15 goals and claimed 11 assists in 2020/21 in all competitions, and scored some important goals for Juventus, including the three goals against Porto in the round of 16 of UEFA Champions League. His energetic presence has been highly beneficial for the Old Lady, with him playing with equal prowess on both the wings.

He has been a menace for the opposition defenders, as he often runs at defenders with speed and beats them easily with his skill. He has been a great creative outlet from the wings while also being a goalscoring threat from any position. He has the ability to create something out of nothing, which often reminds me of a young Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United. He needs to work on his decision making, and once he fixes that he will become one of the best in the world.

When a player brings such value to the team, the club will definitely want to retain the player, who is still contracted to Fiorentina. Juventus are doing the same with Chiesa, waving off the interest from Bayern Munich in recent days. Considering this, it’s difficult for any club to sign him. But a player like Chiesa can achieve his potential at Real Madrid, and he could be everything the club needs in the attack.
